Key Fob Programming Instructions For Dodge and Chrysler GQ43VT17T

Important Notes Before You Start:

  • This procedure requires one working ignition key and one working remote; otherwise, this remote must be programmed by your dealer on automotive locksmith
  • If your vehicle is 2011 or newer then this procedure would not work, and the remote must be programmed by your dealer on an automotive locksmith

Programming Instructions

Procedure - 1

    1. Ensure that all remotes expected to work for the vehicle are present
    2. Sit in the vehicle and close all doors (make sure no one else is in the vehicle)
    3. Fasten driver's seat belt
    4. Insert the key in ignition and turn it to "ON" position (without cranking ignition)
    5. Press and hold the "UNLOCK" button on the existing working remote for 4-10 seconds
    6. While holding the "UNLOCK" button, press and hold the "PANIC" button for 1 second, then release both buttons. Within 3 seconds, the system will chime indicating that the remote programming mode has been entered
    7. Within 30 seconds of hearing the chime in step 6, Press the "UNLOCK" button on the same remote (used in step 5). A chime will sound indicating that the remote has been re-programmed
    8. Within 30 seconds press the "UNLOCK" button on next remote
    9. Repeat step 8 for all remotes that need to be programmed including existing working remotes
    10. Turn key to "OFF" position and remove it from ignition
    11. Test all remotes to make sure they are programmed

    Procedure - 2 (If procedure 1 did not work)

    1. Ensure that all remotes expected to work for the vehicle are present
    2. Sit in the vehicle and close all doors (make sure no one else is in the vehicle)
    3. Fasten driver's seat belt
    4. Insert the key in ignition and turn it to "ON" position (without cranking ignition)
    5. Press and hold the "UNLOCK" button on the existing working remote for 4-10 seconds
    6. While holding the "UNLOCK" button, press and hold the "PANIC" button for 1 second, then release both buttons. Within 3 seconds, the system will chime indicating that the remote programming mode has been entered
    7. Within 30 seconds of hearing the chime in step 6, Press the "LOCK" and "UNLOCK" buttons simultaneously on the same remote (used in step 5) then release. A chime will sound indicating that the remote has been recognized
    8. Press and release the "UNLOCK" button on the same remote. A chime will sound indicating that the remote has been programmed
    9. Repeat step 8 for all remotes that need to be programmed including existing working remotes
    10. Turn key to "OFF" position and remove it from ignition
    11. Test all remotes to make sure they are programmed
