Programming Instructions For LHJ011 3 Button Remote Key Fob

Important Notes Before You Start:

  • This procedure requires one working ignition key
  • The following vehicles must be programmed by an automotive locksmith or dealership:
    • 2004-2007 Saturn Vue
    • 2005-2006 Chevrolet Equinox
    • 2003-2006 Chevrolet SSR
    • 2006 Pontiac Torrent
  • Ensure that all remotes expected to work for the vehicle are present. Any remotes that are not present during programming procedure will stop functioning until they are reprogrammed

      Programming Procedure

      1. Press 26 times on each button on the remote (26x lock, 26x unlock, 26x panic alarm)
      2. Close all the doors and make sure the key is out of the ignition
      3. Insert the working key into the ignition
      4. Press and hold the door "unlock" button on the master window switch. Do not release until step 10
      5. Perform steps 6 through 9 quickly
      6. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (as far as you can go without starting the engine)
      7. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position (where you can pull your key out of the ignition)
      8. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (same as step 6 )
      9. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position (same as step 7)
      10. Release the "unlock" button on the master window switch. This will lock and unlock the doors automatically. This cycle means that the vehicle has entered the programming mode
      11. Hold "lock" and "unlock" button on the remote simultaneously until the door lock and unlock (cycle) again. This step could take up to 30 seconds
      12. Repeat step 11 for all remotes that need to be programmed (including any existing working transmitter)
      13. Turn ignition to On position to exit the programming mode
      14. Turn ignition to Off position
      15. Remove the key from ignition and test all remotes to make sure they are all properly programmed

      Troubleshooting

      • Door lock cycle (lock unlock) before releasing the "unlock" button on the master window switch: This means that the vehicle has not entered the programming mode and you need to restart the procedure from step 1

      • Step 1 was repeated multiple times but the door lock still cycle (lock unlock) before releasing the "unlock" button on the master window switch: This means that there is a problem with the keyless entry system and the remote must be programmed by an automotive locksmith or dealership

      •  Door lock does not cycle (lock unlock) before or after releasing the "unlock" button on the master window switch: This means that you are turning the key (steps 6 to 9) too quick or too slow, or there is a problem with the keyless entry system or the vehicle is not equipped with a keyless entry system
